 Shot from tripod in the back yard. Used 35-80mm Canon lens. Shot in RAW. Sharpened some in conversion. Adjusted saturation is PS. Cropped to a square.

And no, its not dead. The beetle kept stretching its legs out to the sides like that. I guess he needed a break.

POST CHALLENGE - Yeah, I guess I took the perspective idea and stretched it further than most voters would allow. This is a macro. But in the end, isn't macro a different perspective than normal?

Sorry, but this is just a macro shot. The beetle's POV would have the other beetle close, at some angle other than where you stand to take a macro picture of a beetle.

That said, it's a nice macro.
