When I was a kid, I loved watching the old folks play chess. Chinese chess is a common and popular past time among the old folks here.

It's pretty intresting to be participating in this challenge as this "was" how it used to look like when I was still a little boy.

When you're watching from the sidelines, it does give you a different perspective from the actual play. Have fun..:)

Nice DOF and the single piece in the top/left pulls my over nicely as it is about to disappear out the top/right of the shot. The way the pieces are not all lined up in the same orientation also gives the impression that the board is part of a real game.

Excellent work on this one Eric. I love the DOF. I never do borders here, since they are generally not well received. Have you put this one in stock? I think it would sell.

I like this. great color and technically done very well. I think the border works here but i'm not a good judge of that. overall borders are not well recieved in challenges. Its sort of soothing rather than interesting but never the less a great photo.

Technically an excellent photo, but for the challenge, it is just not interesting or compelling enough, IMO.

Great detail and lighting with this photo. Very interesting with the DOF on the pieces. Something about the composition though, seems too precise and doesn't give the photo that extra oomph. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I just can't think of a better way to explain it.
