 Thanks a lot for your votes! This was the first challenge I'd entered in a while, so I was pretty happy with the placing. The original shot was actually just a very ordinary firework in the sky. I didn't have a tripod, so I used a 2 second exposure to prevent too much motion blur. While watching the fireworks, I realized that the rays of the fireworks could be made to look 3D, so I went with this idea and cropped the original image by quite a bit, changed to a duotone with a blue tone, and titled it "Time warp" to suggest a 3-D effect.

The original shot is here. (don't be disappointed when you realize the original shot is fairly blase)

Regardless, thanks for all your support! This was my first entry in a while and I think I've improved a lot since last year, and will once again pursue challenges as a weekly, or fortnightly, activity

With a 2 second shutter time, was this a zoom during exposure shot or was it overhead?
Regardless, very nice effect and congrats on a top 20 finish.

Really good composition and I like the simplicity of it. The border does a great job of ending the burst. This would look cool hanging on a wall. The noise in the background takes away a little bit from an excellent photo.

Very cool shot. Makes for an awesome abstract. Very fitting title, that's what comes to mind :-) I think I saw a similar image in the Star Trek movies :-P
