Pretty, and reminiscent of other shots I've seen (which is just fine). My concern is the lack of contrast. Nothing really jumps.

Yes, these are bunched pencils, nicely photographed, but not stationery.

The background is a bit blah, but I like it otherwise. Wider DOF may have been needed too, something about the focus bothers my eyes.

A different colored BG might help make the colors "pop" more IMHO.

Good focal point and lighting; however the background doesn't work with this image. The brown background sort of blends in with some of the pencil colors and steals the potential pop of this image.

Nice DOF. Sharper focus would've improved this, as would more contrast between the pencils and the background color.

I am sure you would disagree or you wouldn't have entered the photo in this challenge, but IMO DNMC. Still a very nice photo.

Gosh. There's just something about this that draws me in. I love the colors and the shapes, but there's something extra that I can't put my finger on that made me gasp when I saw this.

Interesting subject, but the focus could be tighter. And if we could get even closer to the pencil tips, that would be even cooler.
I would be careful about using the pencil with the arrows though. The arrows lead the eye away from the main subject and off the image completely. Not exactly what you were going for I presume.
Nice background though. You did get some interesting colour there.

Nice focus on the pencils. I wish the background was white or black. The drab brown color kind of kills the vibrancy of the pencil colors.

Nice - coloured pencils always seem to look good. The yellow arrows seem to take my eye away to the side
