 While I was out taking photos of waterfalls, I noticed the intricate texturing of the rock walls. I saw the potential for a great photograph and I set out to capture the texture of the rock, knowing that I'd probably convert it to B/W later.

In post, I bumped up contrast, desaturated, and played around with toning using color balance. I tried a straight B/W conversion but I actually liked this sepia version much better. I liked how it "warms up" the rocks compared to a straight B/W version.

This photo was pretty hard to compose. There wasn't much I could find to include as a "subject," but I suppose you could say the entire rock texture is the subject.

I hope the votors don't think this is too busy.

Personally I really like this and I found it a very interesting study in texture.

I didn't comment on this image during the challenge because I thought it would score much higher and receive a lot of positive feedback. This is an image I would be very happy to call one of my own. You took a very stationary object and presented its character in a very dynamic manner. The lighting is perfect and provides a definite focal point imho. I gave this a 9.

This photo suffers from having been overly sharpened.
I realise that you were trying to bring out the detail in the rock face, but alack and alas.
Things went a bit far, methinks.
Other than that, this is a really nice photo.
