I took my inspiration for this from pidge's red ribbon winner of the same name: Cheers!

I thought the original was a great photo and decided to give something similar a go. Rather than simply try to copy it I thought I'd gave it a black background and use white wine.

Again I feel that lighting is the one thing that will let me down but given this is only my third challenge I guess I can't be too disappointed.

Editing Steps:
none :)

Post Challenge:
Lighting didn't turn out to be the big issue in this image. My monitor was! It wasn't calibrated correctly and it wasn't until I started getting comments about lots of dust etc that I realised people could see more in the image than I could!

Wow! I feel so flattered a picture of mine inspired someone!

My only suggestion is to maybe close your aperture a bit more to make sure all the corks are in focus, maybe use a polarizer if you didn't use one to reduce reflection.

Nice job, and congrats on your new monitor!

I really like the depth that you have achieved here; You should make this a print.

Cute idea...love the corks but he wine glass doesn't do anything for me and the composition seems a little too centered for my tastes. Nice color and contrast though!

Nice composition. The lighting is effective too. I notice some dust in the lower right of the image. It is a bit distracting for me. Was the reflection in the glass intended? Good job.

8 - Good clean image. Symmetry/perspective seems near perfect. A variation in the lighting may have given this even more 'depth' and made this even better in my opinion. Very good 'straight from the camera' shot.

Hope you've been saving those corks and didn't just waste the entire cellar... !!! Fantastic straight from camera shot but if i were picky would like to see a little more definition on the top left of the glass. 9

Nice shot, it's very well done, i'd just have liked for the lighting on the corks to be softer.

Nicely done. It makes me feel as if I was there enjoying all the wine that was served.
