 Spent an hour trying to fold this properly!

White paper crane shot against black background with reading lamps and room lighting. Decreased brightness and increased contrast. Cropped, resized, added border, USM.

Paper, yes; but stationery is not exclusively understood. Japanese, yes; but even I know how to make these, so that isn't exclusive either, as I'm not Japanese. The photo of the oragami crane is beautiful nonetheless.

I really expected to see alot of origami in this challenge. This is nice, sharp and clean. The black background was a good choice rather than a color. Keeps a nice minimalist feel and really highlights the bird well. Good job.

What I like: I like the minimalist look. Light is well done.

What might improve it: Not sure if the tail was a tad out of focus or if the light was just too close to it, Trying to soften the tail a bit might help.

This image is well composed and the lighting is very good. If you would have used traditional origami paper (colored with a pattern) it might have been a ribbon winner.

I started out with origami, but I just couldn't get anything decently folded. This piece is gorgeous. Very clean lines. I wonder about the off-center composition, though. And it might benefit from softer lighting. Some of the highlights seem harsh.
