 We've all seen it at some point.. Ironically I had to set this up.. the screen is showing a gif file.. haven't had XP crash.. yet.

I wish my cam had manual controls for this shot, I'd have liked to set a larger depth of field so that my fingers could be in focus (cam is focused on the screen) would using macro mode have helped, despite the fact the focal point (screen) is within the normal operating range??

I desaturated the red and yellow channels and upped the blue channel a bit to leave only the BSOD in colour.. Thanks to the 'rest' "how'd they do that?" tutorial for giving me the idea!

Lighting provided by a tungsten desk lamp just behind the camera, and the monitor of course...

I think I could probably have done this alot better, I'd appreciate comments on how to improve it, maybe using a different composition, as I said I think a narrower aperture would be better too..

thanks for the comments, rhipster, you were right upping the contrast does improve the pic, especially the foreground detail. I didn't think to fiddle with contrast again after desaturating.

not taking the idea of the shot away from your computer is very sad I thin.

I like the contrast of color to grays, but I didn't think that was allowed in the rules.

Good setup. IMO more light and/or contrast in the foreground could improve this pic.
