Great photo! I like how the flower is angled and cropped. The lighting is great - really brings out the color w/ the black background. Excellent!!! 10

| Very good shot! Lot's of purple or 'violet'. The detail on the flower is very clear. |

| For some reason, I don't like the black background. Texure is present, but I'm only giving it a 4. My overall impression is good, for a 3. That's a 7 nards656 |

| Most of the hairy things in nature tend to get this ice crystal effect when shot in strong sunlight. You can try shading it to get rid of the effect, but at the expense of some depth of field. |

| The composition and lighting on this is incredible. I'm sure it will do very well in this challenge. Except for the background distractions at the bottom I think it is perfect. |

| Great detail in the shot, though an odd angle. Rotating yourself a little to the right could've worked. The stem is awesome, but more of the face needs to be visible. |

| Nicely done. If I were to make any suggestions, I might mention that the background in the lower corners is a bit distracting. Your photo would have worked well against a totally black backdrop. |

| Two nice things about your pic: 1. the jet black background and 2. esp. how the light shows all the "hairs" on the flower. Overall, excellent composition. |

| Good detail, but the lighting seems a litttle off. Maybe a different lighting angle would be better. |

How did you do the background? Very nice "clean" contrast. I would have taken those greyish leaves(?) out though.

| Nice composition and I love the "hairiness". Personally, would have liked it more if the two lighter leaves in the background weren't there; they distract a little. But to remove them, would have violated the rules of submission. |
