Thank you for that link! It helped a lot. |

I took this shot at the Valley of fire in Nevada state. About an hour outside of Las Vegas.

i love this photo, but one thing bothers me, it is not in good lighting, and you really have to look hard to see all the elements, a bit to dark for my taste, though i know you prolly were going for that extra something to make it have more an impact, perhaps lightening this up a tad would help it, just the same it did catch my eye, and it is desolate. |

I like the dark contrast. IMHO this darkness makes it fit the challenge better. |

Ahh...Why did you make it so small? I bet it looks great when it's bigger. |

Blurred, blocked shadows, uninteresting sky occupies much of the photo. Good idea but could have been better executed |

The first thing that strikes me about this image is that it is way too dark.
comp ok, blacks too deep, whites just not there. In a b&w pix, to be convincing, you need to have texture in your pure blacks and pure whites. Overall, it is hard for me to give a proper critique on the lighting, dof and texture due to the underexposed image.
Always take the time to experiment with exposure even if it takes a couple of days to get it right.
These challenges are not a race to see who can upload an image first, but to see who has a handle on their forethought, and settings of the machine. |

Somewhat lacking in conrast and detail to be easy to see the symbolism. |
