This is unrelated to the actual quality of the picture, but have you tried that lens at f/14 or thereabouts... you might find that it's a fair bit sharper... Mine is.

Nice focus, like the shoreline patterns... possibly a little less negative/black space (lower right) would make me feel closer.

there really appears to be too much darkness and black to make this landscape fully engrossing and captivating. i think basically you're just too far away. 5.
