How do you achieve this within the Basic Editing rules? Filters? Or is there a setting for it on the D1 (although I can't imagine there being one on a camera like that)? |

If it's been validated, and you have selective desat, I'm assuming this was done on a p&s with one of those selective colour functions (like my Canon IXUS). If so, kudos to you even more for getting such decent bokeh out of a p&s. Nice work. |

The selective desaturation is just not doing it for me here. I'm guessing that the full color version would be quite a bit beter. |

Did you do this with Canon's MyColors settings, a filter, or what?
Either way, the colors are too washed out for my taste. |

This entry has very over-processed look. The oof areas look pretty ugly and does not enhance the picture in any way. A very average entry. |

I don't think the desat works here. Good on ya for doing it within the basic rules though. |

Definitely meets the challenge and exhibits proper bokeh. The subject matter leaves me wanting (not because it's a flower - I have nothing against flowers - it just lacks a "wow" factor for me). Good luck! |

the blue in the background is distracting because the eye catches the color before it distinguishs between in focus/out of focus |

Very effective desat. Bokeh a little muted but not bad. 9. |
