Yikes! Good luck with the court case. I have two daughters, too. |

Looks like yiu have a bit of motion blur or camera shake here. The idea was strong for this challenge, but overall the processing or lack of it hurt your score.
I think a really tight crop of the face would have made the photo a lot stronger.
Glad to hear she's doing fine. Cute as she can be. |

So very saddened to read of the news :(
I was hoping the black eye was a product of editing not reality. With the pic blurry in some places I couldn't make it out.
I wish a fast and easy and 100% recovery to your sweet daughter and this will all be a distant memory to you, her, your family and friends.
Glad to read your comment below knowing she is getting better and it wasn't something more serious than it already is. Good luck! |

She was ok. She has a tiny fracture above her eye, but the dr's said it would heal nicely. As of today, the bump on the forehead is gone and her eye looks like it has a small purple smudge under it.
This pic is one in a series I took for when we go to court. We're suing the company that had the faulty seatbelt that broke and tossed her carseat into the street. |

That's a sweet kid but I dont get the photo. Was her right eye darkened during post processing? I hope so because I couldn't in my mind imagine what could have happened to her. Poor child. |

a little explotative, but powerful in it's own right. |

I already voted a while ago, now I'm back for commenting. I gave this picture a 10. I think it conveys the meaning well. Made me quite depressed to tell the truth. I just hope this was an accident for the childs sake. |

This just makes me want to cry! Of course maybe she just ran into a door or something...but the feel of the image, and the caption, make me think abuse. The little smile is perfect. A tad more in focus would improve it IMHO |

Sorry, but I am not convinced of Desolation.
Definitions of desolation on the Web:
*devastation: the state of being decayed or destroyed
*bleakness: a bleak and desolate atmosphere; "the nakedness of the landscape"
*forlornness: sadness resulting from being forsaken or abandoned
*devastation: an event that results in total destruction
nice comp, too soft around model, focal plane seems to be on the good eye, blacks are too deep, whites barely in, nice texture,bg distracting, light flat |

This could have been so good. However, you have lost the focus on the face and hair, the lighting is flat and provides no definition and then the background is intruding into the frame. |
