the reflections are cool in this, but over all it's not a super interesting shot. |

Bit of a stretch for desolation isn't it ? Too much going on in here that isn't relevant |

I do like how the line reflected on the table is lined up with the wall. It strikes me as more "plain" than "desolate", though - sort of minimalistic. |

A slight CCW rotation would help the pic IMHO. |

Why is this desolation? It looks like a simple still life. |

this photo doesn't give me much to think about or look at. These two objects don't evoke any kind of feeling or reaction in me at all. The lighting is good but only in the sense that it reveals the objects with clarity but not in a way that creates a mood of desolation or loneliness to me. |

Not really an inspired shot. The empty wall on the right does not add anything to the picture. Having a model sitting alone in the corner would convey your idea of desolation better than just a cup. The lighting could be more dramatic. |

Sorry, but I am not convinced of Desolation.
Definitions of desolation on the Web:
*devastation: the state of being decayed or destroyed
*bleakness: a bleak and desolate atmosphere; "the nakedness of the landscape"
*forlornness: sadness resulting from being forsaken or abandoned
*devastation: an event that results in total destruction |

I guess this picture will be on the last page. I don't se the desolation, it's too small, the composition isn't very good, the subject is very uninteresting and the postprocessing isn't any (I think). Good luck next time. |
