I see that you are a new member here on DPChallenge. Don't let your placing in this, your first, challenge deter you from continuing if you are serious. Participate in more challenges and in the forums. There is a lot to learn from others on this site.

sort of an interesting idea, but it doesn't really move me. also, the crop feels too tight, and the reflections on the plastic are distracting.

Sorry, this just doesn't say "desolation" to me.

Awww...cute!

I am missing the "Desolation" aspect of this image. The lighting in this instance is rather harsh, much to the detriment of the image.

Not much of interest here, and too little contrast. This tight crop doesn't really work here either.

sizing images for submission I am not sre what you use to resize your images for challenges, but I find that having images at the 640 max size and 150 kb size limit helps get the highest scores. I hope this helps you.

Sorry, but I am not convinced of Desolation.

Definitions of desolation on the Web:

*devastation: the state of being decayed or destroyed
*bleakness: a bleak and desolate atmosphere; "the nakedness of the landscape"
*forlornness: sadness resulting from being forsaken or abandoned
*devastation: an event that results in total destruction
