 This is my daughter's neighbor-friend, Lucy. Shot this at the botanical gardens in Cleveland ... I actually just thought that it was a cute fun time and didn't even think of the challenge til later on. The lighting outside was great but the shadows in this one gave me a challenge. I did much more to this than usual for a basic edit. I used a strong shaadow/HL. Used Hue/sat and curves to try to allow the face to be bright and the glasses to be bright and contrast but not unreal or blown-out looking. She is always really cute in real life and in photos and hope to do more work with her (free model) :) !!!

7 - That's more like it. Good composition, good textures, good subject, interesting with the glasses. Skin on fingers has too much 'red' in it, but difficult I realize to adjust in basic. Quality overall - perhaps could use some refinement - can see traces of jpeg loss/haloing/something and would like to have seen more definition in the wood texture and just overall more 'depth'.

It's a great shot to look at. Maybe the foreground is a little too washed out, making the subject look superimposed?? too critical perhaps?

Sweet portrait and nicely framed. I also really like the unconventional composition with the main interest being tucked into the lower right corner rather than placed carefully on a third. The contrast between the grey of the wood and the vibrant colour of child and accessories works well.
