 Was vacationing in Georgia without my computer when I phoned a friend and got the name of the challenge. Had kids, had a watermelon.

Pushed the ISO to 400 to get by without a flash.

My first challenge submission. Be gentle.

Now you can stop worrying about ISO 400 on your D200 :) Shouldn't be too bad in most cases...

Beautiful! This is one of my absolute favorites in the challenge. The way you've captured these sweet little girls' expressions make it feel like there is nothing in the world more important than watermelon :-) Looks like they are right, too!

Great capture! I love the expressions on the girls' faces and how they're really, literally, digging in. This looks like the steps along Ala Moana Beach--and aloha print! Oh, this hits very close to home for me. Lovely watermelon and beach memories. :)

touching candid; quite nice.the crop is a bit harsh for me; the aspect ratio is distracting.

Oh the joys of watermelon! I think this picture has a lot of potential. It feels a touch snapshot-ish to me. I think if you had crouched a bit lower, to be more on the level of the kids or the watermelon would make this picture more intimate. Also, some slight tweaking in levels/curves and a tiny bump in saturation would help make the colours 'pop' a bit more
