A great shot. Just enough space above and below to frame the boats, and you let them dominate the picture as they should. The lines are nicely crisp, especially considering that's without any sharping edits available. A hint of compression artifacts on the edges of the rolled sails, maybe in the water (not sure) and at the bow of the white boat, but fairly minor - not the kind that jump out of you. |

two subject thing is kinda confusing... there needs to be something to offset these, maybe more negative space from the sky, more pronounced difference between the boats, etc. |

I think the title would work better had this photo actually been black and white. I realize that not all camera's have that feature, so maybe not possible, but just curious about the title. These definately look like old boats, and your focus is good in my opinion. I think the colors seem a bit muted. Mabye it's just the shadow from the white boat on the green one that bothers me a bit. Also, I wish you could have gotten the back end of the white boat in the shot, it seems a bit off balance with the white boat standing out so well, and the green boat is almost invisible as it blends in with the background. It's kind of weighed down on the left of the photo. Definately old though. ~Heather~ |

it would have been nice to be able to brighten this up a bit and bring out the black ship a bit more but very nice |
