 I was out looking for shots to enter to "Green II", found orange flowers and got carried away photographing them; while doing this, the butterfly just flew in and landed on exactly the flower I was photographing!

The image doesn't really give the impression of unexpected find, but it was quite unexpected so I'm entering it anyway, because I like it.

I wish I could clone out (or smudge in) the OOF stem at the top left - I have done so for the print, and it improves the image IMO.

Shot RAW, converted in Nikon Capture, saved as TIFF.

Simply beautiful. The muted background colours compliment the subject so well. Could've simplified the composition further by cropping off the vertical stalk, but either way, an exquisite shot.

lovely macro--could be even sharper. the colors are delicious and the flower is beautiful. i'd really like a white border on this, make the butterfly pop out even more.

This is a nice butterfly pic, but a butterfly on a flower isn't too unexpected. A 6 from me.

Something took a chunk out of his left wing, maybe a child's butterfly net, but you got the true capture in a photograph. Excellent work.

The body is not in focus like the wings are. Its a bit distracting. Not that I know how to fix it, but I notice it ;). Taking pics of insects like this are hard.
