A lot of people agreed with the concept of this shot (a bank as a sacred place) but thought the bank I chose was too prosaic, and suggested I shoot a bank from a low angle, so it would soar like a church. They also found the colors dull - in this case I thought B&W looked better than the best I could get out of the drab brick.
Curves to lighten the dark side of the building, desaturate, add overall contrast in curves, crop, resize.

Forget that last comment...I think I need sleep and to look at what challenge I am in. I have come back to fix my comment and vote....okay...here goes. Good tones and use of the corner point of the building. I don't know the original so I have nothing to compare. Sorry about the earlier comment...going off to kick myself now.

The problem with this picture still is the size .. to maximise the imact it really needs to be 640 on the long side.

You nailed it with this challenge! You took a ho-hum original and used the comments to create a really good picture. The B&W looks really good.
