This was the second day of shooting. I found the light for the white background was better at 11:30 a.m.

Thanks to my husband for being a patient model.

When I saw the challenge I zeroed in on Fixing A Hole with the idea of putting a nod to "the sea of holes" from the movie Yellow Submarine and a bit of Magritte tossed in.

Set up and prep time took about 1.5 hours - ironing the white tablecloth, cutting out the black holes from black paper plates (which are a tad uneven), glueing a mop handle to the bottom of an open umbrella, taping the cloth to the house wall outdoors and taping the holes to the cloth...very sweaty work in the tropical sun.

The hat was a lucky find at Party City - it was exactly what I was looking for AND the last one.

Cheers.

A very off-the-wall Beatle'ish image. The iron was a great touch. Well done!

This is a very interesting photo... but I'm sure you are hearing that a lot :-) I like how the man and the back wall seem to almost be in different dimensions in terms of color - very intense. Why the choice to make the umbrella be turned inside out? Anyway, I really like this photo - nicely done, great placing and use of rule of thirds - 10 -

Now THIS looks like something from a Beatles song. I'd like to see the man with just a little more contrast.

To me out of all the photos I have seen so far this one reminds me of The Beatles. It seems like something they might have thought up.

Very nice idea and decent execution. Your model appears to be a touch soft and your exposure looks a little off hence the lack of detail in his jacket hair and hat. I would have tried a jacket of different color than the holes though to give more definition or in other words so he doesn't blend into the holes.

Bravo> I had to look at all the images before I commented on this one so here I go finally... This is the only image in the challenge, I feel, that captures the lyrics of a Beatles song extreamly well AND also captures the Beatles style as well. The top hat, the upside down umbrella, the black coat -- very well thought out. The only thing that caught my eye with was that the handle of the unbrella is a bit distracting but only because I'm realy anylizing hte images.
Great image - a much deserved 10.

I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in
and stops my mind from wandering
where it will go
I'm filling the cracks that ran though the door

NOTE.... I'm looking at the image first and tyrying to guess the title. If I can't guess, I can't give high marks :-(

best yet

thought it may be "4000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire", but the brolly gave it away

10 - fantastic
