I like the angle of this shot... as a hero, looking up and to the future! His uniform, dirty with his "work", equipment in hand... a wonderful portrait! |

IMHO, just crop it tighter and get rid of the freespace above the shoulder and above the buckle of his jacket. The tighter crop will just have him looking out of the scene Great shot. . . GQ style. Oh, one more thing- get rid of the frame or make it very thin. |

I like the angle that this was shot from a little more than your challenge entry but it has a lot more of his jacket when the real subject is his face and smile. With this shot the space above his right shoulder isn't doing anything. If you ever have a person or face on one side of the frame, always trying to have them looking across the frame to the other side instead of directly out of the frame. It just helps to connect the space in the frame. My only other small complaints are that his face seems a little red and it seems like it may have been sharpened a little too much. |
