Here's the edit i did from the suggestions in the comments. I had so much i should have taken out. I think this would have done much better had i taken out that pesky foot print and the water meter...oh well ;)

Hope you enjoy...:)

I must say when i first heard of this challenge, i was excited, for i grew up listening to The Beatles with my father, who was and still is a HUGE Beatles fan. So this was a blast for me.

This is my good friend Jennifer Turner, a dancer and overall great girl. When in front of the camera, she does not have to be told what to do, which gives me all the freedom in the world to just shoot away. She comes up w/ some of the most amazing, artistic poses, and portrays her dance in still life beautifully. I went out w/ this song specifically in mind, and am extremely happy w/ this submission, which hasn't happened very often for me latley...finally getting out of a "photographers cramp", i suppose.

Here's my post processing details:
--Ran through Noise Ninja plug-in in photoshop cs2
--slight levels adjustment
--used dodge and burn sparingly, mainly for detail along her
dress and pendants.
--small spot healing done on face and a select few places
throughout skin
--ran unsharp mask filter on the lightness channel in Lab
mode to bring out edges and overall detail in a few
places.
--resized to 640x427
--save for web
--es todo!

i really hope everyone likes this. who knows, might place in top ten. i'm really excited about this one.

good luck everyone else that enters, i know there should be a lot of great images in this one

Nice perspective and top notch color! I kind of like the footprint and water meter. It's an interesting contrast between the elegant women and rough environment.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

Hi Jon,

First impressions are ...I really like this shot. The colours and lighting on your beautiful model are lovely, her pose has a wonderfully fluid and sensual feel to it. Point of view, perspective appeals to me...fits the music.

I do agree with some of your comments about the busy b/g, meter next to her knees being distracting.....I wonder if a shallower dof, background oof would have thrown the focus directly onto her eyes.

I think I might have tried a further slight levels adjustment moving the white slider to 0/1.0/222, it seems to bring out more detail in her eyes and face. Good work on the composition of this shot.....it really is different, vibrant!

I grew up with the Beetles too....this shot really does fit the challenge very well, fits the mood of the time.

I'll look forward to seeing more of your work in forthcoming challenges

very seducing pose but i cant scoe it as high as it could get had it a different title.
her eyes arent what's tantalizing here, perhaps if you were to recenter the photo? crop differently?
the focus doesnt go on her eyes so sorry about that it cant be the 8 i was gonna give it.

the photo is spoiled by the "meter" next to her knees, otherwise it would be a really good picture.

A couple of things I notice here... one - the electrical box or whatever it is that is coming out of her knee is quite disturbing 2 - while I love the chipped pain next to her - the plain white, modern door detracts from the scene, and 3 - I think this would have served better as a much closer portrait - it looks like your model has wondeerful eyes... but why not focus on them? Especially because of your title?! Get in close... you've got a great model, don't let a busy scene detract from her.

I think she's gorgeous and has the eyes to match the title...the background is shocking though...a gas meter, the footprints on the step...they all distract rather than add to this shot...I think if you wanted a grungy background you should have gone all the way and found a REALLY grungy background. This looks like the back steps of the house and takes away from what would have been an awesoem shot...in any case 7

Captured with great attention to angle and bosy positioning to exploit the play of light and shadow. Bump.

Unique angle and very well balanced composition. The subject and her dress really pop against that background. Excellent photo!

Like the colors and yes her eyes are tantalizing but the POV is a little too extreme IMO.

The only thing that bugs me about the photo is the gas meter on the left side. Might have tried cropping or hiding that somehow.

Really vague... this picture could fit in pretty much any challenge as long as you change the title to fit it. I assume you took this picture without considering using it in this schtick.

She's got the devil in her heart
But her eyes they tantalize
She's gonna tear your heart apart
oh her lips are really thrilling

Maybe a closeup would have given better impact, you brought the lyrics to life though....7
