::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
What a powerful image ... it is more like a painting than a photo to me.
Composition:
I think that this may be an area which could be improved ... by having hte horizon line dead in the centre the eye kind of stops there and gets a little stuck ... there are so many different lines in the picture that none of them act as a leading line taking the eye to a point of interest. Although I did found the rocks in themselves with the water an half the amount of sky may meet the rule of thirds and give a strong leading line ... I am not sure but that may work.
Subject:
Through the title it meets the challenge, I don't know the song ... but going by what is happening in the picture you have choosen a great angle for it.
Technical (Colour and light):
As I mentioned it looks painted i am not sure what processing steps you have taken to achieve this look as their are no photographers comments on this ...
The picture is sharp with a good use of aperture to achieve a very nie depth of field.
The water is sharp and good totally stop motion I can see the spray off the rocks which is great.
To grow its vote?:
Try a different crop ... I am not sure how much DNMC votes you got .. but it seems there may be one or two from the comments ...
Summary:
I like the way you think .. and I think this is a lovely shot .. keep it up.

Damn that's quite an image. This should have scored 6.7 not 5.7. |

Really busy ... The sky is great, the factory stuff is great ... I like all the elements but the color and content seem a little like overkill. |

Nice catch. Love the energy and all the movement. That sky is wonderful. I usually try to say at least one thing I might change but I can't find anything. |

This feels "assembled." Not saying it is, just how it feels to me. The title seemingly has little to do with the photo and the photo seemingly has nothing to do with Beatles titles or lyrics. Sorry. |

I love the turquoise sky with the browns in this photo and the diagonals of the rocks, clouds and waves. |

As a landscape I like this - the great DOF is effective, adding an element of graphic interest as well as simply the view. The contrail in the sky - the vertical one - works slightly clumsily against the effect of the rest of the lines in the shot, perhaps. Fine tonality, though a little judicious shading might have helped emphasise your subject for the DPC voters. |

This convey's mother nature's son as industry, I like that concept. Nice composition, only complaint is the water is a little brown looking rather than sea green or blue. bump |

NOTE.... I'm looking at the image first and tyrying to guess the title. If I can't guess, I can't give high marks :-(
powerful image.
not sure I saw the title in there, but now I see it I can see what you're getting at.... |
