In as much as this makes for a good image, the silhouette doesn`t carry the image in it`s entirety. What this needs is a good swatch of color. Had you shot a bit later than this and adjusted the colors to create the beautiful colors of sunrise, I think this would make for a really strong image. The subject that is really important in this image is the sun yet there isn`t enough of it. Patience is key. The concept of this image is good and I applaud you for getting up really early to capture this shot. The silhouette could use a bit of sharpness specially since this was shot at a fairly fast shutter speed. The digital grain doesn`t lend to the overall image as well.
I am sure you can potentially reshoot this image. Might I suggest you give it another try? Practice makes perfect as they say. I would be willing to give you another critique if you decide to reshoot this image.
If you have any questions about my critique or wish to discuss other items pertinent to this comment, please do not hesitate to reach me via PM.

The silhouette line of the trees is not enough to carry this...

a less than spectacular sun rise/set. It's hard to get a great photograph if the subject doesn't deliver. |

a bit too grainy, probably should have pulled the shadows lower in the picture (perhaps use less space), currently it feels like you've split the picture in half, which is unfortunate, because the bottom half isn't that interesting, but the sky has a lot of potential |

Needs a bit more crop from the bottom, but pretty nice job. |

Why do so many people lack an imagination? Honestly, when you've got I AM THE WALRUS to work with, why would you settle for HERE COMES THE SUN? And the picture could use some editing. |
