 This is in a remote location in the Arizona desert. During the three hours I spent there I did not see anyone of any vehicles.

It is an interesting place. The original petroglyphs were left by Indians who scratched regious drawings into the rocks. The rocks had a glaze-like black surface that can be chipped away.

The great Mexican explorer, Captain Juan Bautista De Anza, "discovered" it in 1775. Nearby are the last remants of the trail he blazed from Mexico to Northern California. This place was also a stop on the New Mexico-Califonia Butterfield Stage line and travelers in the 1870's left their own petroglyphs there.

Most of the time today I imagine it is much like it has always been. Now there is a desert road nearby and ranches within a few miles, but quiet solitude still resides here.

My camera almost always lacks good brighness and contrast and it is no exception here.

Composition: Nice attempt with foreground/background.
Technical: Unfortunately the colour similarity leaves it a little flat, which is a shame, given the interesting subject.

Overall impression: Very interesting subject.

The bare sticks in front take away from the focus of the picture. Cool petroglyphs!
