Hey Marge. Didn't get to vote this, actually, but I would've given it an 8. It's very well done, IMO.
Again, I'd've gone for a tighter vertical crop for this, drastically lessening the black negative space and and giving the viewer that almost "claustrophobic" feel.
But that's just me.;p |

Hi Margie!
Nice work here! I'll echo what others have said about the reflected light, that's really an inventive and yet totally commonplace use of a single light source. Heh! I might have tried to shoot this a more of a side angle so it looked more candid - it's easier to sneak up on people from the side than straight on, so a slightly sideways shot might have looked more.. natural? believable? Not sure of the word I'm searching for. Congrats on finishing in your own top four! |

Hello from Ãlex, CTP MkII
First Impression: Very clever shot.
Composition: OK, but maybe is too space up the subjects and subject is too centered, but not sure
Subject: very appropiate for the challenge. I think is original that the single light source is on the hands of the subject and the reflection is what lighten the scene.
Technical: very good IMO, very natural colors, good focus and lighting.
Improvement: maybe the composition, as told. I'm not sure, but you could have tried to crop leavin more black space on the left and so centered off the subject.
Summary: Intelligent idea and good realization, congrats on your third highest score
Ãlex

Nice shot. I like the tent effect and framing of the girl with light then darkness. |

Why not crop this a lot tighter and make it more personal? You might lose some focus that way, but I think that would be better than all the negative space. Just my opinion. |

ahh - brings back childhood memories of staying up later than allowed. Nice use of lighting and excellent exposure control. Focus looks sharp. I like the catch lights in the eyes |
