Your inside is out and your outside is in. Your outside is in and your inside is out; so come on. Come on!... |

I am not familiar with the song, but I really do like the mood and the innocence this image portrays. Nice work! |

Fun shot. I like the subdued feel of the lighting and I even like the expression on the model. Doesn't look stiff or uncomfortable. The position of the hand is a little awkward and it's a bit brighter than the rest. |

Greetings from the Critique Club! :)
This is certainly an interesting image...it's probably a bit more of an obscure lyric than most voters would be familiar with, therefore it requires more thought than some of the other "in-your-face" kinds of entries with lots of wow and gloss. Your lighting works well, but I think voters would rather see a bit more on the face and probably less on the hand...the brightest part of the image is where the eye is naturally going to fall, and her hand isn't really the subject, so it distracts. The background is a bit distracting as well...a greater DOF and perhaps moving her away from the background more would decrease it's distracting properties. The monkey...well, to be honest, toys rarely, if ever, do well in challenges, no matter how much they meet the challenge. It's just one of those DPC things. ;)
Still, all that said, a 5.3 is not a bad score and I think you placed about where I would have guessed. Keep shooting, and let me know if you have any questions. :)
Take care,
Laurie |

Would like to see a little more detail in the monkey but everything else here is perfect! Great lighting.

I have a calibrated monitor but even so, this is pretty dark. Better for me if it were brightened up a bit. |

The photo is a bit dark overall, a little bit of extra light or dodging in PS would've done the trick. |

The focus and lighting should be a little stronger... |
