::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
What is parched .. the earth .. .and therefore that is a failure, the guy therefore he failed or the fence that really is broken .. or failed.
Composition:
This is good .. uses rule of thirds for some, but I have a hard time knowing what to focus on.
Subject:
Again, three things that are alll perhaps different failures ... but which are you talking about.
Technical (Colour and light):
Black and white don't work here, if you are showing the grass as parched you can not tell from the lack of colour. If you are meaning the bloke we can't see enough of him. The lack of colour has also made this a very flat picture.
To grow its vote?:
Try to pick and focus and work wtih that ... too many distractions make an image hard to vote high on.
Summary:
Good work .. it is an interesting picture.

Great shot! I'm a little confused as the center of interest though. I'd imagine the person in photograph is the subject, but the fence also says 'failure' and it happens to be in the rule of thirds. |

Your lighting looks a little flat and I think seeing more of his face would be helpful. I think you convey a feeling that meets the challenge well. |

IMO the title, or image do not say failure,just a guy sitting on the ground looking at the grass.... |
