Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
ones success is anothers failure. This picture could have worked in either .. but as a failure I think may have excelled.
Composition:
I think there is too much in this capture. If you had cropped tighter on the action this may have added to the picture. But it also may have shown the soft focus of the shot .. being that the goalie is moving a lot.
Subject:
mets the challenge .. but as mentioned may have excelled in the other one.
Technical (Colour and light):
This is great ... good natural light .. and lovely sharp colours and lines.
To grow its vote?:
You did good for the shot you entered .. enter a different crop it would be a different story .. I am not sure it would be better though.
Summary:
Good work .. .something totally new for you from a quick look at your portfolio ...

Good action photo. I would have scored it higher if cropped more tightly on the goalie. |

I would have cropped out the guy on the right and zoomed in on just the goalie. Everything else is an unneccessary distraction. |

I'd have entered this in failure. Since the goalie and goal are the focal point he's failing in his attempt. |
