 This was a long photo shoot. The high iso was for any noise that would come from the camera. Post processing was entirely legal, including some noise addition, desaturation of yellows and reds, and levels, as well as a final crop. I am happy with this, and hope it does well.

The soft focus and grain makes this shot in my opinion. Hope others see it that way too.

I don't see the failure on this picture. It could be a tired worker resting a bit.
Picture is disturbingly noisy.
On the good side: good composition, lighting and focusing.

Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't see the connection between your title and the photo. Can't see a failure in the photo either. I like the grainy look though.

Cool portrait with interesting composition, but I don't get a sense of failure. I like the tight composition and the grainy feel of the image. I see more of a disgust look than one of failure.

It's hard to tell what he has failed at. The composition is nice. I'm ambivilant about the graininess.

The photo is quite grainy. It looks like you may have applied noise for effect, but would have been better without the grain. Your use of focus (which you did quite nicely) would have conveyed the effect you need if the photo had remained sharp.
