Greetings from Critique Club.
Composition – The composition in this photograph in my opinion is little too complicated. It takes a little more concentration to really figure out what it is being represented for the challenge. Yet this is a very difficult subject matter to compose. If anything I would have shot with more distance to give a larger effect area of the flame.
Set-up & Camera – As the other comments you have received I too found the Tin Can or Barrel distracting. The lighting and sharpness is spot on as there is good texture in both the wood element and the hot peppers. Your choice of depth of field is excellent.
Post Processing – Post processing is done really well the colors are well balanced. The highlights and shadows are make the shot seem three dimensional.
Opinion – The photograph definitely meets the challenge. I can see how the voting members looked at it though a lot of them probably didn’t spend more than 30seconds trying to figure out what is going on the photograph or what the photograph represents. Looking through the rest of your portfolio you have some excellent work and some great ideas/concepts, keep up the good work.

| I don't know what it is, but I find the horizontal lines on the upper left corner distracting. Without that, it's perfect! |

| Nice, sharp rendition. Peppers are really great when they are roasted directly in the flames - and the picture conveys the sense of heat in both senses. |
