Sorry for being so behind. I gave you a 4 on this one. Alot of noise and lack of sharpness gave it a poor feel. I think the long shutter speed didn't help much with that. A quick peek below at some of the other comments and most are pretty dead on I believe. Execution needs to be tweaked to get the higher scores. Playing around with differetn settings to see what comes up could be ab ig benefit.

Camera Work/Technical: The first thing that jumps out at me is the graininess and flat details. Some NeatImage would have helped out a great deal. Great colors and toning, but the grain really detracts from the color image.

Lighting: Overall a bit flat, but you did a pretty good job with what you had to work with.

Composition/Content: Great expression and a very neat idea. I think that the motion blur adds some interest to the image. The positioning of the camera could have been better. The door behind you is very distracting.

My Opinion: You met the challenge well, but this one needed better execution. I think that it scored to its potential as it is.

The composition is good, but because of the high ISO and long shutterspeed you've used, theres a lot of grain and its all a bit soft. You were obviously struggling with light to have to use iso400 and 1/3sec, so you could have avoided these problems by lighting it more, for example with a desk lamp and reflector.. or even just used a larger aperture (higher f number). Because of the "dull" light, you've also lost detail in your eyes, which should be the most important part, so I think this aspect has let you down.

I like the pose. It seems you have the same problem I had with my last entry. Not enough sharpness. The motion blur on the hand is good, but the rest looks grainy or slightly OOF. A lower ISO would probably help.

I scored this a 5. I was bothered by the graininess and the focus. I think the vertical line in the background is distracting too. But I like the idea and the expression.

I didn't vote in this one, but probably would have given it a 5. I like the idea, the expression, and I really like the fact the hand is blurred to show the motion of shaving. It's the technical quality that probably lowered the vote. The picture has a lot of color noise, it appears. Also, when doing people, it's nice to get some more light on the eyes if possible.

this looks really noisy, and shutterspeed is a bit low as the eyes are not sharp.
you could have used f10 1/30 sec and ISO 100 for a much better result, same exposure, lower ISO and the possibility to show movement of the hand without loosing the sharpnes in the face.

and that vertical line behind you really must be vertical, so you have to straighten the image for a better result.

Very flat, too much noise.

There's about 50 other guys in this challenge that need that razor when you're finished with it. ;-)

This feels more like a candid to me than a self portrait. Perhaps I'm wrong, if so I'm sorry...
