Great choice for the pic... I had an emu egg once... we guessed at the cooking time of around 3.5 HOURS!!! It turned out perfect too... Hard boiled of course...

One of the most interesting types of eggs I've ever eaten... I remember being struck by the beauty of the shell's color too...

Although the one we got was quite a bit more uniformly green... Variance in breed I wonder?

I love the texture and color of the emu eggs. The basket and placement of them is great. The only thing that distracts me is the hot spot from the flash. Althought it is not blown out my eye travles from egg to egg to the hot spots. Maybe a slightly more defused light source?

Ohhhh, look at that noise. Just kidding. My father raised emus and I remember them looking just like that. Great photo. It appears to be timeless. I give it a -8-.

Beautiful glow and a sympathetic still life study. The combination of the jade-like eggs and the honey-warm basket is a lovely pairing of colours, textures and tones. Also an elegant juxtaposition of "pre-life" (eggs) and "post-life" (timber basket). I think this is what a classical still life is all about. 9.

I REALLY like this. I don't think of it as still life in the traditional sense, but the focus, texture, and lighting are spot on. Looks like the cover of a country or agricultural magazine. Nice job. 9
