As some of you know, the New England has been hammered with rain for almost two weeks straight, in my town there are over a dozen bridges down (like distroyed), and several dozen road closures, it's a maze to get anywhere. I had some dificulty with this submission, everyone I asked what to do they all said leave it on and take a black picture... I'm sure someone will... I just threw the cap down in the road, snapped like 20 shots and left because it was raining.

Curves, levels, neat image filter, the basics ya know.

Greetings from the Critique Club:

You've chosen an interesting angle to give the image a lot more interest and dramatize the set up. The street lines aid your composition and lead the eye to the washed out portion of the road.

The lens cap as subject is not quite integrated into the picture. I agree with the comments that the cap needed a little more light on it to highlight its entire form (I understand the limitations of basic editing prohibit dodging/burning which might have enabled that).

I'm also wondering if a slightly different setup might have helped, having the lens cap more in foreground instead of mid-ground.

I like the different angles in the photo - the trunk of the tree, the yellow line and the guard rails. They really give the photo its structure. The exposure and the blown out sky detract from that but I understand the limitations of shooting in bad weather.

Plus one point for the word 'Distroyer', it creates a good rythm in the title. :)

Basically cool :) Maybe a penlight to give a little more highlight on the front of the lenscap, bring out the detail a bit?

I like the idea, maybe needs a little more light on the cap, but I still like the photo. Very clever.
