Rescue of a Mid-Atlantic White-Sided Dolphin, who beached itself on Assateague Island National Park during a storm. It's now at the Baltimore Aquarium's Marine Mammal Rescue Center where it's recovering form its trauma.

Poor thing, I hope they/you got it back in the water - it doesn't look so much like an old and dieing animal. My own immediate reaction would have been to get yourself down to his/her level to shoot: from this point fo view, I think this shot becomes more about people's reaction to a beached animal than about the animal itself. It's a good photo, the omission of people's faces adds a strong element, and exposure control is good.

This shot tells a story, but is not an environmental portrait IMO.

This is a great capture. Hope he or she managed to get back in the water ok. Lucky you to be able to capture this moment.

I see no link to this challenge. It's a nice shot though.

Photograph a portrait that says something about the subject within the framework of their own environment.
