 I learned a lot from this challenge! I discovered that the black material I used as a backdrop seems to have little bits of glitter or other sparkly stuff. My slower shutter speeds (which were needed for the smaller apertures) seemed to pick up this glitter a lot! Tomorrow I'm going to go and buy some better backdrop black.

I tried some of these peppers in a bowl (more traditional Still Life?) but decided that simplicity could be better. I decided to use just one pepper.

My post processing was:
1. Neat Image (wasn't able to get rid of the darned glitter)
2. Crop
3. Levels
4. Increased red saturation 5%
5. Resize
6. Unsharp mask
7. Border

Nice tack sharp focus. I like the light reflecting off of the pepper. I'd like it a tad less centered, but other than that - spot on.
