From the Critique Club :
Hi Riyadh ,
English is not my first language , sometimes when I read the subject of a challenge I'm not sure about what it means ; forums are very helpful , usually under Current Challenge it's possible to find more information.
As some comments said , your photo DNMC =Does Not Meet the Challenge. This have been the main reason for the low score.
About the photo , it's very emotive . With a better lighting or maybe just from a different angle you could have avoided the strong shadows on the boy. For some reasons (composition , balance , etc.) people prefer to have the subject off the center , this could give strength.
I think that a closer view would have added interest.
I wish you good luck for the next challenges !

I don't think it reflects the "still life" theme very well. |

if it was a 'tough life' challenge, this would do well...but it's a STILL LIFE challenge |

This doesn't speak "still life" to me, but it's an excellent view into another culture. Very sad. |

Umm. Not sure if this meets the challenge and the focus also seems a little off.... however, this is an amazing capture. It makes me realize that my life isn't ever bad. Good work. |

This does not meet the challenge - not inanimate and not an arranged composition of objects. |

Phew - that's a hard way to live! I don't think this is a still life though. |

DNMC-no use of arranged inanimate objects.
This is a good photojournalism shot. I think having him move to the 1/3 line behind him would help. |

I gave this photo a 1 because it didn't seem to me to fulfill my expectation of a "still life," a classic form of artfully arranged objects. Call me narrow minded but that's the way I see it. |

I know you're gonna get a lot of this, but still life doesn't entail the "non-still" (people). As a stand alone image...very sad with all of the garbage. Lighting is harsh (not that you could have controlled that at this specific moment in time), casting deep shadow on one side of the boy's face, and blowing out select pices of garbage, making it standout more than the boy. (the greens in this image are wonderfully vivid) |

Poignant shot, but not a still life IMO. |
