Sorry. Couldn't resist! ;^) This is our German Shepherd "Betsy". She follows me everywhere I shoot. Most of the time I enjoy her company. Once in awhile she can be annoying - like the time she chased off the wood ducks before I could get close enough, or the time she forced a fox to turn around and hightail it out of range...

I had a different idea for this challenge originally, but then this image came about while doing something else.

It's probably destined to stink scorewise as it will irk the DNMC people (even thou I think it fits), the flower and pet dislikers, etc... ;^)

I never saw the thread about you losing Betsy. About 2 weeks later, we lost our almost 12 year old Barney. So I feel your pain. I wanted to comment on this photo because it's wonderful! I love how she's posing for you in this floral field. It's a beautiful photo and keepsake. :)

Remarkably good finish for a dog & flower shot :-) I think yous cored well because there's a definite sense of whimsy and personality here. Good job!

The challenge is to photograph the subject in an enviroment that says something about them. I am not sure if the flower field fits you dog. I don't know your dog, and it id definatly a beautiful portrait, but it doesn't say anything about him. Sorry

Ohhhhhhhhhh. . .this is a beautiful pet portrait, and beautiful animals melt my heart. I hope the narrow "does not meet the challenge" police are not killing you because its not a person. Well. ..I love it so much, I'm going to try to counter that with a 10!!! Good luck!

I'm sure you are getting hammered for not meeting the challenge. My only critique would be this needs a touch mroe sharpening (IMHO)

Beautiful composition and sharpness. Somehow, this doesn't seem like the typical environment for a German shepherd, but then I don't know this particular dog.
