IMO, a portrait should include a person (or perhaps an animal). As for the shot, I wish more of the bike was included. |

a portrait without a person portrayed is lacking something essential.

I really try to avoid DNMC comments; I believe I try quite hard to find an angle in a shot that would make me understand how that photographer felt their image would fit a challenge.
However I don't see a portrait here at all, so your score is going to suffer because of that. Overall this isn't a bad image - the composition shows creativity. Would be improved with a straight horizon though. |

And this is a portrait of?
Photograph a portrait that says something about the subject within the framework of their own environment. |

Um.. where's the person? Fell off the bike, maybe? Not really a portrait, although the sun over the water is beautiful. |

you must be getting a beating from the voters for DNMC, no? Things like, where is the "potrait"? Clearly they were expecting a human face... Narrow minded, I guess. I dont see anywhere in the challenge description that says we must shoot a photo of people. I think this is a creative out-of-the-box idea. Not so sure I liked the slight tilt though. |
