 There was a thunder storm at about 11.30 PM and it made me awake.Just picked up the camera and came out of the house in back porch.It was a very heavy thundering.It was all pitch dark and even focussing was not possible.Set the zoom at maximum wide angle and manual mode at very slow speed.(6.5 Sec). The lightning takes just one millionth of a sec.Any slowest speed could do to capture the moment.I took about 200 shots but the lightning was captured only in five. Selected best of five. Cropped,contrast increased.Added border.

Nice capture of the lightning bolt. What would have really made this spectacular would have been if it went farther down and connected with something.

You were lucky to get the lightning. Pity the picture is so grainy. Night shots are very difficult.
