In here the loneliless is well hidded!
It is difficult to find some point to look at..
I preffer something that stands out (btw in some cases it doesn't be in the focused are) |

Firstly, desolation? No. I do not feel it here.
If the insect was not in the center of the page I would have missed it completely! When taking pictures of animals and insects, I always prefer to get upclose and personal with my super macro. Perhaps you could have waiting for the insect to move onto a different background also?
From what you have here, I would have cropped the distracting blrry bits both above and below. |

im sorry this photo doesnt do much for me, it's too out of focus and where the focal length is sharp, nothing is there to study. Sorry to sound harsh, but to me doesn't capture the subject title very well |

You really have to study this photo to see your focal point but once you do, it is quite an interesting perspective on the challenge. |

personal opinion is that there is too much out of focus and I am not clear about the overall concept |
