 I Have noticed that the hummingbirds visiting my feeders are less timid as dusk falls. I am assuming that their vision is not as good as it gets dark and they are not as aware of visitors hiding nearby. Over the last several nights I have been able to get fairly close to them as they visit the feeders for the last time of the day. I focused in on this beautiful male rubythroat hummingbird just as he was backing away from the feeder ready to head to the nest as darkness approached. I am very happy with this shot as I have taken literally hundreds of pictures of hummingbirds and this is the best one I have taken of the male with his amazing neck feathers in full flourescence.
As far as post processing is concerned, I cropped, adjusted levels and curves, Slightly saturated and sharpened.
