Border overwhelms this shot, which is too soft and lacking in context or involvement with the subject to communicate desolation. [3]

I like the shadow and the expression on the subjects face is effective, but find the soft focus for this much of a close up to be distracting. In addition, I think I would have liked different lighting, maybe a darker key...this is just too bright.

I see what this shot is getting at, but it is soft, and a bit flat. I Also think a wider shot that included more of the subject's head and having him remove his tanktop to get rid of the distracting white parts would have improved this a lot.

This border is so HUGE it's ridiculous. And it doesn't hide the unflattering shadow. 4
