A shot of a dear friend who\'s eyes are positively bewitching. I\'m practicing portraiture, I got a few nice shots of her today. Had her sit of a stool on my lawn at sunset with my boyfriend holding a white sheet up behind her.

Trying out Librodo\'s suggestion for a bright object to brighten eyes in this thread: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=384779

Editing: dodge/burn in eyes, hue/saturation, levels, brightness/contrast, resize, gaussian blur, sharpened and saved.

And thanks for all the comments and the favorites, that makes me really happy!

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Such natural colours ... a beautiful portrait.

Composition:
I like this for a portrait ... I would mke mention that the nose looks a little centred in the shot ... making this emphasis a little ... the wyws are almost on thirds .. slight higher crop may have achieved this and removed the emphasis from the nose.

Subject:
meets the challenege and I think is a well formed portrait.

Technical (Colour and light):
As with the other commentors I like that is not too processed and she looks totally human ... its a great change .. although being so young she looks really fresh as well.

To grow its vote?:
take a look at more of librodos shots ... he often uses the forehead to help with the framing as well ... the flowers slightly lower so that her chin is in the chot even with a shallow DOF may have helped complete the fact .. I don't know ... just some thoughts.

Summary:
Good solid shot ... and really deserving of being on the front of your profile.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Very coy and sweet. I like the way you did not over-process, but left her skin more natural. It makes her more human, and prettier. Given your title, which fits very well, I wish there was a bit more light on her right eye (viewers left). Still a good shot. I'm bumping up.

Hey, now there's a good way to make a flower shot more interesting. Well done!

i love the colour and the lighting. the reflection of the yellow of the daisy on to the face is very nice and the green of the eyes to the center of the daisy also with some pink under tones an all around great shot

Very pretty portrait. There's a little more light and brightness on the flowers than there is on her face, which distracts a bit, but the composition is nice and the subject's connection with the camera works well.
