Well, I think that there will be a lot of other people using this as their overused phrase, but that's ok. I like advanced editing rules much better; I would like to have at least been able to dodge and burn a few choice places, but I suppose I got spoiled with my first challenge entry. I am guessing that this one will score much lower than my first, but we'll see. Also wanted to note that the bowl filled with mostly alphabits was way boring, so I had to bring captain crunch to the rescue.

here's my after challenge try:

You asked for comments on low scores (4 from me). The competency of the picture is fine - it's in focus, well put together, I don't have to squint at it and so on. I guess I'm more than a little hung up on the principle of pictures being visual things and depending on a visual language. Taking a picture of a word (or acronym) spoils that. So there is self fulfilling prophecy in your alphabeti spaghetti there...

yeah, I agree. I was estatic that it finished as high as it did... I was sure that I was going to get pounded with a few things, I'm just wondering what other people saw... (the same stuff as me? or something I didn't notice?)

I love the decisions you made with this.

I would have pushed the brightness just a hair though if it were me.

Great shot. Deserves a place in the DPC hall of fame!

Good one! :) There are some blown highlights there but I think they add to the overall character of the image this time around.

Just kidding! :) Like the shot and composition and DOF, just think it could use some more contrast, seems a bit flat as it is.

Hilarious! And DMC. I also like the contrast of the milk with the bowl and the letters with the colored cereal. Nice job.

Very creative! Very nice colors and I really like the focus (and how the bowl kinda fades out of focus at the top). One of my favorites of the challenge. Good luck!

Funny, I had an idea almost exactly like this! Of course I was too lazy to use it...

Think this should place in the Top 20.

Funny and perfectly executed. This is really well thought out, even put a bright colored cereal in the bowl that would really make the spoon stand out from it. Excellent!

LMAo... yeah that IS cliche isn't it :-)

Brilliant ... I'm not personally familiar with the phrase (hah!)

I like the choice you made with the cereal base to be colorful and textured. A little more DOF might have made it pop a bit more. 7

Nice. I'd be interested to see where this ranks. You know since it's not on the cliche web site it must be DNMC. 8.
