A great egret I found at a lake in a small neighboring town. Never thought the dark, gloomy weather would cooperate enough for me to use a high shutter speed, but it actually worked. :)

Pretty, the bird seems a bit too blue...but that could just be my monitor too! I think if the composititon were a slight bit different then you would have an exellent photograph here! 5

Great capture. Great crop. Playing with the colors and levels may have made the bird pop out a bit more - make his white shine strong against the background. His neck and head seem to be a light shade of blue rather than the white it could have been. I only wish I could take a picture like this.
