This was a shot that I took somewhat by accident. I had set everything, but didn't realize that I was using tungsten as my white balance. The result was the blue tone to the image, but I thought it gave a better feeling to the situation, a little more dark. This fire occured about 30 miles from my house just two weeks ago. It has been since put out, but the effects were still quite apparent.

This actually looks like it's recovering and with the sunlight glanced through the trees it looks too un-desolate! Image is a bit too blue-cast for me and may have been better in mono.

The overall image has a nasty blue tinge to it which could be fixed with software and I would have liked to see the colours of the ashes and such. There is this really distracting stump right in the middle at the bottom of the image which should be cropped off as it's firstly distracing and secondly doesnt look burnt enough. It has been cut at the top to show fresh looking bark.

However, well done. Good try. =)

Great depiction of desolation. The picture looks a bit washed out...even so...it's still a good picture. :)

Good subject but very dull and flat colours.

More contrast would have helped bring out the blackened fire scene.

I'm not so sure about the blueish cast... plus the image seems a bit over exposed.

That blue just doesn't work for me.

Too bright?

I think this would have worked better for me seeing the blacked charred remains rather than the blue color. Good luck.

The blue color and the shafts of sunlight show hope to me, not desolation. I get more a feeling of renewal here than destruction. It's an attractive shot, though.

Seems a little washed out to me...otherwise a good shot.

The picture has got too much blue tint imho, a bit overexposed. But a nice picture though.

Seems really overexposed. It's not clear what the main subject is. The blue tint to the lighting does not help the photo, in my opinion.
