Product shot I took... thought it fit the challenge. Background is really just steam with a gel lighting it from underneath and a medium softbox above the camera. Moved the red channel hue in Adobe Camera Raw to +100%. Very slight adjustment to the midtones using Curves adjustment layer.

Nice closeup!

Okay, I get the title now, very clever! The capture would be fantastic as an ad for Nike golf balls. I think the blue on the ball is a little lost so you may not do that well for complementary colours but I like it. 7 and hope you do well. Bumping up!

Not sure I see the connection to your title. Does golf make your love life better? Anyway, I love the background and the bit of light at the base of the golf ball.

Nice orange. Pity the ball wasn't bluer. I imagine you'll get voted down for this. I'm not voting but this would get a 9 from me.

Looks like a product shot! Very good.

Would make a great product shot for NIKE, I used the same ball for a competition a long time ago-- good luck- 8

Nice picture even if the Title is somewhat bizzare.

I really like this! Strong colours, strong shadows and lighting, and a strong centered composition. I'm not sure what the title means, but if you have any tips I'm all ears ;)

So...you're taking your partner golfing????
04/29/2006 07:26:07 PM
lol nice first thing I thought about this would be a good nike ad or poster
04/29/2006 05:35:57 PM
probably not enough blue for most but the orange "smoke" is great
04/29/2006 05:16:31 PM
I love this shot for the lighting and background but feel there is not really any complimentary colors. Maybe its my monitor and there is supposed to be blue on the ball or something. Not sure but still, 6

This looke like a blue/orange combo. This rocks for a product shot but for the challenge I find the blue much too subtle, upping the contrast for the blues would've made it more visible. 7

nice ;) the blue is a bit subtle but it works well
04/29/2006 09:38:34 AM
don't see the complemetary colors.
04/29/2006 09:09:12 AM
strong image 7

interesting shot
04/28/2006 09:40:05 PM
great photo.....bit of a stretch for this challenge though
04/28/2006 03:43:36 PM
While I think this is a cool photo with good technicals, I'm not sure how it fits into the challenge. JMO.

Not sure what golf has to do with a love life but otherwise a great photo. 8
04/27/2006 10:32:29 PM
I'm looking hard for the complementary colors here. Nice shot though. 2
04/27/2006 11:56:51 AM
huh???
04/27/2006 07:54:32 AM
Great picture but where are the complimentary colors?
04/27/2006 07:43:02 AM
thats supposed to be a good ball, is it?
04/27/2006 05:36:06 AM
I understand the idea, but where's the blue? There is a hint of it in the shadow under the ball, but I don't see this as complementary. Hmmmm
04/26/2006 07:23:09 PM
good shot
04/26/2006 11:34:27 AM
DNMC as there's no complimentary color to the orange. Hell of a nice shot technically though.
04/26/2006 04:40:08 AM
Very creative! and well presented!

2 - 'ok'. I really see only white and orange primarily in this shot, the blue only seeps through because of the reflections/lighting/etc. Don't see a strong scheme here, other than 'Nike', but this wasn't a Nike Challenge.
04/26/2006 12:48:38 AM
I love the shot...I am sure you will get some dnmc comments, but there colours look complementery to me!
