 The setup for this shot was as follows: white transparent reflector flat between a chair and a table. I placed the ribbons on top of the reflector and mounted the camera above the reflector using the horizontal column on my tripod. The ribbons were lit from underneath with a Canon Speedlite Ex flash. I triggered the camera with a remote and fired the flash manually.

Post processing was minimal, levels adjusted in raw conversion tool, cropped, used curves and levels, rotated, flipped etc. Resized and saved. Decided to skip the border this time and instead let the ribbons flow out of the picture.

Lost some definition in the red ribbon loops with a bit much flash. Great idea. I like the simplistic nature of this shot.

simplicity. Rare, but I usually like it. There's just something about the lighting that I'm not entirely keen on, but the twirly dancing interaction of the ribbons is quite nice to look at.

I like the simplicity here, the red, green and white make this a nice pic, however, the brightness on the bottom right is a little distracting to my personal eye.

4 - Not abstract enough in my opinion, if that was your intent. A bit more play with the light and depth may have given this a little extra, but likely difficult with the high key.
